In his slump, Murphy is still shooting 35% from 3

Its very easy to blame it on the people that are perceived to have the ball the most when things go bad.

In a traditional offense, there might be something to look into there. But the usage rates of Aluma and Mutts are far higher than all 3 of Murphy, Pedulla and Cattoor (Cattoor surprisingly is the lowest usage rate on the team)

The team is starting their offense late, so the average fan will think thats the problem area. It isnt. VT is very stale away from the ball. Where they moved the ball a lot from side to side last year, they are running the same actions over and over and then watching Player X go to work when the secondary pass is made. 5 sets of defensive eyes are all watching the ball and not a single one of them are paying for it.

Since this crowd understands football a little better, essentially what is happening is that other teams are crowding the box and the fans are getting angry VT cant run the ball, blaming the RB.

Its not a 1:1 fit because theres a lot going on here that doesnt have a football equivalent. But thats essentially it...VT is facing a loaded box and doing nothing about it. And then fans are blaming the RB for his slump
